What did you like about the program?
Upon completion of an in-house residential program, I was able to articulate into an award program, the APESMA MBA program through Chifley. The lecture notes were complete, detailed and unambiguous. Relevant examples, additional reading materials, past exam examples and assignment guidelines were clear which made undertaking and following the program independently, a lot easier.
What was the benefit of distance learning?
I didn't have to get to lectures which saved me time from travelling and incurring parking costs. The time saved was used more effectively towards reading my notes, which is helpful when you have to juggle work and family commitments!
Learning outcomes…
The studies have been relevant to my work as I have to do a lot of project management and it helped "translate" upper management speak. More importantly, the program has aided my professional development and career progression from a research scientist to a senior gas geochemist.
Parting words…
The mode of learning and structure of the program benefited me in returning to work after having time off from starting a family. The support Chifley provided with deferring my exam also helped reduce the stress.
I am pleasantly surprised with how easy APESMA has made this type and mode of study available and have recommended it to my colleagues as a sensible option to filling some capability gaps.
